What a blessing finding 2nd Story Designs was! I originally contacted Darla about doing a faux finish on our cast stone fireplace. Darla drove to our house in Seabrook for a color consultation before our remodel. I was hesitant because I’m not someone who can normally afford to pay someone for their opinion. Darla was friendly professional and gifted. I went forward with our remodel confident in material and color choices.
 
Darla returned after our remodel to faux paint our fireplace and stair hand railing. She and her daughter worked for 2 days and the results are beautiful! I have received many compliments. Darla worked with us to get the exact results we wanted, going back over and darkening the fireplace after we had been very adamant about a very subtle finish. Darla had asked what our plans were for the railing during her color consult and I had told her I was not sure. She suggested the grey wood grain faux finish and it is incredible. My husband was not sold on the idea. He has commented several times since the projects were complete how beautifully both pieces turned out. The fireplace is the center piece of our home. The hand railing is an impressive custom piece.

A huge thank you and shout-out/recommendation for Darla Gaylor and 2nd Story Designs! I needed the top of my antique kitchen table refinished due to water damage. After calling around to several local shops, I had sticker shock at how much they wanted to charge for the work. I may as well have bought a whole new table and chairs. Darla agreed to refinish the table and did an outstanding job at a way better price! She perfectly marched the table top to the legs and chairs. She's very easy to work with and gave me updates during the process. Thanks, Darla!

If you need work done and want it done right, I highly recommend Darla Gaylor with 2nd Story Designs. I had carpet taken out and replaced with hardwood flooring. Then Darla came in with the difficult task of restaining the stair rails to match the wood floors. Perfect match!! I am am very picky😊, and I am very pleased with the work! Great job, Darla
